ATP PGD-6 Flexible polyester laminated photoluminescent film coated with a permanent acrylic adhesive and backed with a polycoated paper release liner. The photoluminescent pigments absorb and store energy from normal, ambient light. In sudden darkness, the tape is immediately visible. These non-electric safety system tapes easily and inexpensively affix to walls, handrails, stairways, columns, doorframes and baseboards. Tape will glow in total darkness after exposure to artificial or natural light - it is fully charged within 30 minutes. Glows brightest the first 30 minutes after activation has ceased, but will remain clearly visible in a completely dark room to the night-adapted eye for approx. 6 hours (PGD-6). Can be die-cut and kiss cut using steel rule dies. 3” neutral paper cores. All of these tapes are screen printable.

Applications:

ATP PGD-6 Used for identification of critical equipment controls, light switch covers, exit and directional signage – especially for escape routes and stairways. Tape clearly labels safety equipment and provides a safe, illuminated path through stairwells, halls, rooms, and other potentially hazardous areas. Simple and inexpensive to install: position, peel off backing, and adhere. This safety system requires virtually no maintenance. Used in hotels, hospitals, schools, public facilities, office buildings and manufacturing plants - wherever people need a safe, reliable, high and low-level egress pathway in case of an emergency, such as sudden power outages or the spread of smoke. Product has excellent resistance to UV light and does not show significant degradation when used outdoors. Also used for labels, decals, novelties, sporting goods, trims, special effects, etc.

Nominal Tape Widths vs Actual Widths

Tape rolls are cut to standard tape industry metric widths of approx. 24mm per 1-inch of nominal width ordered. As a result ACTUAL tape widths are normally 5% narrower than the NOMINAL width shown in inches. Examples:

  • 1" Nominal width = 15/16" (24mm) Actual width
  • 2" Nominal width = 1-7/8" (48mm) Actual width
  • 3" Nominal width = 2-13/16" (72mm) Actual width

Note that tape rolls are NOT guaranteed to be splice-free.
